Romanian Horia Tecau qualifies for his fourth Wimbledon final after victory over compatriot
Romanian tennis player Horia Tecau, one of the best doubles players in the world, qualified to the Wimbledon men’s doubles final for the fourth time.
Tecau and his doubles partner, Dutchman Jean Julien Rojer, beat the Romanian-Indian duo Florin Mergea/Rohan Bopanna, after a three-hour game ended after five sets (4-6, 6-2, 6-3, 4-6, 13-11), on Thursday, July 9.
Horia Tecau played three consecutive doubles finals in Wimbledon, with his former teammate Robert Lindstedt, in 2010, 2011, and 2012, but lost all of them.
Tecau also made it to the quarterfinals of the mixed doubles competition together with Slovenian Katarina Srebotnik.
