Romanian insurer Asirom could pay EUR 5 mln compensation in bus accident
Romania insurer Asirom may have to pay a compensation of EUR 5 million after a road accident in which 5 people died and 23 were severely injured.
A bus transporting people hit a dump truck on Friday morning near Ploiesti. The bus, whose driver appears to be guilty of the accident, had a mandatory car insurance with Asirom, which is part of Austrian Vienna Insurance Group (VIG), reports local Profit.ro. The tip truck had a liability policy issued by Euroins.
The compensation could reach the maximum legal limit of EUR 5 million, according to sources. This would be one of the largest payment for damages recorded in recent years.
Omniasig paid EUR 5 million three years ago, for a bus that overturned.
