Romanian investor Ioan Niculae launches new wine brand
Romanian investor Ioan Niculae has invested EUR 9 million in the Wine Center in Zimnicea and will start selling the Crama Voievodului wine label in Romania. Around half of the funding was covered by EU money. The fist wine brand to be launched under this label is Nobilitas.
Niculae's company, Intervitt expects to produce 1 million liters of wine in 2011. The company owns 334 hectares of vineyard, which has not yet reached maturity. Plans are to increase the area to 420 hectares of vineyard.
InterAgro, the group of companies owned by Ioan Niculae has recently announced it would open a vegetables green house in Zimnicea, following a EUR 2.5 million investment, which had initially been allotted for producing roses on the land plot. A new wine brand- Samburesti- has also been recently launched by investor Jean Valvis, following an investment of EUR 12 million.
