Romanian investor sues tax agency for publishing his name on shame list
Romanian investor Cristian Tantareanu has sued the tax agency ANAF after his name appeared on the list of individuals with overdue liabilities to the state budget. He now demands over EUR 22,000 worth of compensations.
He has hired Sebastian Bodu, a former ANAF president between 2005 and 2007, for legal assistance, reports local Profit.ro.
Tantareanu is the first person on the ANAF list that has decided to sue the tax agency after the bad debtors list was made public. According to the list published by ANAF, Tantareanu had EUR 600,000 debt to the state budget, at March 31.
The investor said that he had challenged the amount owed to the state in 2009, and had been battling in court with ANAF ever since.
Tantareanu owns the residential complex Paradisul Verde (Green Paradise) near Bucharest and the construction company Api Construct.
