Romanian IT group GECAD, owned by local entrepreneur Radu Georgescu, launched a new eCommerce project in the UK called Doggy&Co, which is an online shop dedicated to dog lovers, the group announced.

The online shop sells products and services for dog owners and addresses the high-end segment of this market. There are more than 8 million dog owners in the UK who invest some GPB 7 billion each year for the maintenance of their pets, according to GECAD.

“eCommerce is a field where many businesses can find truly interesting opportunities. In Great Britain this is a multi-billion pounds market. Any business which brings innovationa and which has a passionate team, can change something on this market and can differentiate itself,” said Radu Georgescu, Founding Partner of GECAD Group.

Doggy&Co is run by a team of British dog enthusiasts. The company sells premium accessories, organic food and dedicated services for dogs, such as photo shootings, dog training and insurance, according to Paul Adrian, CEO of Pawz Ltd, the firm which operates the online shop. The shop also sells gift boxes for dogs.

GECAD invests in companies with high growth potential with the ability to innovate and deliver new ideas and products in their markets. The group focuses on software and hi-tech companies, including security software, cloud technologies, eCommerce, cryptocurrencies and payment methods.

Among the group’s current projects are Coinzone, which is a Bitcoin online payment system, software producer GECAD Net, Otomed Medical Center, and Vector Watch, which is a smart watch project.
