Romanian IT&C retailer Flanco spends EUR 450,000 revamping 10 stores
Romanian IT&C retailer Flanco revamped 10 stores since the beginning of the year, following a total investment of EUR 450,000, according to the company. Moreover, the retailer plans to open two new stores in Bucharest and Ploiesti by end-2013, bringing the total number of stores to 80.
Flanco’s sales increased by 12 percent in the first half of this year, compared to the same period in 2012, the increase being mainly supported by IT products, telecommunication and small appliances.
The sales of notebooks represented 64 percent of the company’s total sales of IT products this year, followed by tablets - 23 percent. On the small appliances segment, the retailer’s sales recorded an increase of 14 percent in the first half of the year, while in the large appliances category the increase was one percent.
Flanco posted a turnover of EUR 137 million in 2012, up 25 percent compared to the previous year, mainly due to the investments made in modernization of stores, in team development and in product portfolio management, reads a statement of the company. The retailer’s market share also increased to 13 percent.
The retailer has 900 employees and currently owns 78 stores across the country.
