Romanian judge Daniela Prandea from the Radauti Court, is being investigated under judicial control for taking bribes and complicity to blackmail, according to a statement of the National Anticorruption Directorate DNA.

According to prosecutors, between 2011 and 2014, the defendant Constantin Babiuc, with the support of Daniela Prandea  and of other judge from the Radauti Court, allegedly used their positions to determine a person give up partial ownership of a building located in Radauti.

Prandea pushed the deadline 32 times in order to delay the settlement of the case.

“This action was meant to put pressure on the owner so he would give up ownership and sign an agreement in this matter,” reads DNA’s statement.

In exchange for this service, the defendant Constantin Babiuc  promised Prandea a seven-day holiday at a hotel located in the Mamaia seaside resort, between the second half of July and early-August.
