Mihai Ghyka, former Bergenbier CEO, moves to Vodafone Romania to lead consumer business unit
Mihai Ghyka, former head of Bergenbier beer producer in Romania, will move to telecom company Vodafone Romania, where he will lead the consumer business unit, according to a statement from the telecom company. Ghyka, who will start on the new position on June 20, will replace Karsten Wildberger, who came to Romania in 2006 and was promoted chief commercial officer of the consumer business unit in 2008. Wildberger will take another role in the Vodafone group.
Ghyka, 40, left the helm of Bergenbier Romania at the beginning of May, after his second CEO mandate with the company. Beer producer StarBev has appointed Jens Hoesel general manager of subsidiary Bergenbier in Romania, replacing Ghyka, who had returned to lead StarBev on January 1, 2010, after the beer producer had been bought by investment fund CVC. Ghyka had previously led the beer company, until 2008, when he decided to take a sabbatical. He is the creator of the Bergenbier beer brand in Romania. Mihai Ghyka was the Eisenhower Fellow Romania 2009, in the USA.
