Romanian Metrorex's new CAF metro trains carry over 62,000 passengers in three days
Two of the 16 new metro trains Metrorex has purchased from Spanish CAF were put into operation across Bucharest’s metro line 2 last week. They carried over 62,000 passengers in the first three days and traveled 2,257 kilometers across the network.
Other 14 new metro trains will be put into service on the Line 2 in the second half of the year.
Metrorex purchased 16 trains from the Spanish company. The CAF train has six cars, a length of 113.6 meters, a width of 3.2 meters, and can carry a total of 1,200 passengers. The maximum speed is 80 km per hour.
