Romanian movie wins Best Feature Film award at Miami Independent Film Festival
Romanian movie Billion Star Hotel, directed by Alecs Nastoiu, won the Best Feature Film award at the 2016 Miami Independent Film Festival – Mindie.
Founded in 2015, Mindie is an ongoing film festival that works on two different levels: monthly competition and annual event. Last year, the festival received a total of 962 film submissions from 64 countries, and they all participated in the monthly competitions.
The Romanian film was the winner of October 2015 and was later selected for the annual event, alongside the other 11 monthly winners. The awarding ceremony took place on June 26, 2016, when the Romanian movie won the Best Feature Film Award.
Letters from Generation Rx (USA 2015) won the Best Feature Documentary award, and We Know You Have a Choice (USA 2015) got the Best Short Film award.
Billion Star Hotel, which stars Rudy Moca, Nicu Mihoc, Dan Radulescu, and Teo Marton, is about the reconstruction of inner dramas of three apparently odd characters – Sica Generalu’, Panait Surdu, and Arthur Popescu, who meet at a turning point, on the train of life. Their psychological profile begins to take shape with the important stories of their lives, which they share on the journey.
