Romanian music: Vita de Vie (VDV)

The name of this band speaks of a tradition in Romania, back from the time the territory of the country was inhabited by the Dacian people. In translation, Vita de Vie means vineyard- and inhabitants of these territories have always had a soft spot for wine.

The band Vita de Vie was established in 1996. It plays alternative rock, which occasionally includes jazz, raggae, rap and hardcore influences.

The band is made of five members: Adrian Despot, the leading singer and also guitarist, Sorin Danescu – keyboard and special effects, Sorin Danescu – drums, Sorin 'Pupe' Tanase- guitar, Cezar Popescu – quitar, Adrian Ciuplea – bass.

After releasing previous albums with third party record companies, the members of the band have also created the record label 'VdV music'. Vita de Vie has recorded and launched seven albums so far, with the latest, Fetish, being released this year.

Vita de Vie's next concert is in Sibiu, on August 23rd.
