Romanian nuclear power plant wants EUR 375 mln investments until 2019
Nuclearelectrica, the company that manages the nuclear plant in Cernavoda, has planned total investments of RON 1.7 billion (EUR 375 million) between 2017 and 2019, according to a report sent to the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
The company wants to carry out investments of almost EUR 100 million this year, while the investments planned for 2018 amount to EUR 122 million. For 2019, Nuclearelectrica estimates investments of EUR 155 million.
The most expensive project is the refurbishment of the Unit 1 power plant, which is estimated at EUR 1.2-1.5 billion. The company will also invest in building a warehouse for burned fuel.
At the end of last year, the company had RON 3.66 million (EUR 809 million) in its accounts, which have remained from previous years’ profits and haven’t been distributed as dividends, but kept in the reserves.
