Romanian OMV Petrom could give up some of its employees
Oil & gas company OMV Petrom ponders restructuring its projects, as well as the number of its employees.
The group could reduce the number of employees due to the weak market evolution, reports local Ziarul Financiar. In January, the oil price dropped to around USD 32 per barrel, the lowest level in the last 12 years.
At the end of September 2015, the company had 16,200 employees.
The Austrian group OMV, which owns Petrom, announced on Friday that it would sell Petrol Ofisi, its fuel distribution network in Turkey. OMV also plans to restructure its operations.
Petrom will publish last year’s financial results this Thursday. The company could post losses for the first time after its privatization in 2004.
