Romanian OMV Petrom invests over EUR 40 mln in refinery overhaul
Romanian oil & gas company OMV Petrom will invest EUR 16.8 million in the overhaul of the Petrobrazi refinery and another EUR 23.7 million to modernize the unit.
The process will start this week and will last up to one month. During the overhaul and modernization period, the workforce on the platform will increase by 3,200 people. The refinery currently employs up to 900 people.
Some 1,900 pipelines and 1,300 safety valves will be verified.
OMV Petrom will also stop the Brazi power plant, namely one of the turbines will be stopped for two weeks and the other one for three weeks. The process is a routine one, according to OMV Petrom representatives.
The Petrobrazi refinery underwent a major modernizing process between 2010 and 2014, when the company invested some EUR 600 million.
