Romanian online retailer eMAG will open first drive showroom in Sibiu

07 April 2017

eMAG, the biggest online retailer in Romania, opened a new showroom in Sibiu, on Friday, April 7, as part of its offline expansion strategy. Starting September, eMAG plans to turn this showroom in the first drive showroom in Romania, allowing clients from the area who order products online to drive to the showroom and pick up their products without even getting out of their cars.

The new showroom in Sibiu, the company's biggest outside Bucharest, has some 600 sqm and offers the possibility to test some 600 products from the retailer’s offer. The retailer’s clients can also pick up the products they order online from the showroom. eMAG estimates that some 80,000 orders will be delivered through this showroom each year.

The retailer recently inaugurated its second showroom in Bucharest, in the Titan shopping gallery, where it estimates that some 150,000 orders will be delivered each year.

eMAG, which started as an online IT&C retailer, has become a universal online retailer by adding more product categories and by opening its platform (marketplace) to other local retailers.

The company opened its first showroom in Bucharest, in the Grant shopping center, in 2008. It now has two showrooms in Bucharest and one in Brasov, Cluj-Napoca, Constanta, Craiova, Galati, Iasi, Oradea, Ploiesti, Sibiu, and Timisoara. The retailer also has over 200 delivery points in Romanian Post units.
