08 May 2017

Romania’s Chamber of Deputies launched an open tender to buy cars for the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, which will be held in Bucharest in October this year, reports local News.ro.

The tender was launched through Romania's Electronic Public Procurement System (SEAP).

The contract has an estimated value of over EUR 1 million and targets the purchase of 25 limousines. Three of them are luxury limousines, with leather upholstery, individually adjustable temperature, folding tables, cold box, Wi-Fi hotspot generating device, and flag holders on the sides.

In mid-April, the Government supplemented the Parliament's budget with RON 15 million (EUR 3.3 million) for the organization of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.

The NATO Parliamentary Assembly serves as the consultative interparliamentary organization for the North Atlantic Alliance. It represents a link between NATO and the parliaments of its member nations.
