Corina Negulescu, a 16-year-old Romanian student, has achieved an impressive result at the French Baccalaureate – she got an average score of 20.29, above the maximum grade of 20.

Luca Niculescu, Romania’s Ambassador to France, also wrote on his Facebook page about the Romanian student’s great achievement: “She is only 16 years old, she is called Corina Negulescu, and got one of the highest scores at the French Baccalaureate: 20.29! (the maximum being 20).”

The Romanian student is now planning to become a surgeon.

The French Baccalaureate uses the 20-point scale, with general average of 10/20 being necessary to earn the diploma. A grade of 20/20 is a perfect score and is rarely awarded, but sometimes this maximum can be exceeded based on the options a student has.
