Romanian business journalist Dan Suciu, former editor-in-chief of the Money Channel TV station, was named as the Government's new spokesman. The appointment was prompted by new PM Ungureanu's wish for a business journalist to hold the position.  Suciu, who holds an BA in Philosophy, an MA in Public Policies and a PhD in Economy, was editor and editor in chief of the weekly Privirea from 2000, then worked with business magazine Banii Nostri until 2005 and with the daily Prezent. He has been working with the Money Channel since 2006.

Suciu will replace Ioana Munteanu, who has been the Government's spokesperson since 2009. She will stay in the communications team.
