Romanian PM, during visit in Albania: My grandfather’s family came from Moscopole to Romania
While on a working visit in Tirana, Albania, Romanian Prima Minister Victor Ponta said during a press conference with his Albanian counterpart that his grandfather’s family came to Romania from Moscopole, a small municipality in southeastern Albania.
“This is the first time I come to Albania, in Tirana, and I hope to return on another occasion. My grandfather’s family left from Moscopole to Romania, so I should have come here by now,” said Victor Ponta.
The Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama said during the meeting that “Romania is a friend of Albania, to which we are linked by history and culture,” adding that Albanian citizens are familiar with names of the Romanian culture, such as Mihai Eminescu or Nicolae Iorga.
