Romanian retailer Mercadia opens new Macro store with EUR 0.5 mln
Mercadia Holland BV group, owned by Romanian businessman Dinu Patriciu, has recently opened a new Macro store in Calarasi, on the premises of the former MiniMax store, with an investment of EUR 500,000. This is the sixth Macro store opened in Romania this year.
The unit has a sales area of 960 sqm, offers 77 parking spaces, and has about 30 employees. A total of 150 Macro stores are planned to be opened by the end of this year, of which 53 will be re-branded MiniMax stores.
Mercadia Holland BV also owns the Mic.ro convenience stores chain, a network that included over 600 units at the end of June 2011, the Macro discount network, Bet Arena Cafe betting houses and the Bio Good ecological products chain.
