Romanian retailer Profi reaches over 10,000 employees

Romanian retailer Profi, which is owned by investment fund Enterprise Investors, has recently opened several stores in Focsani, Targu Jiu, Braila, and Turnu Magurele. The network has thus reached 420 units and over 10,000 employees.

The retailer has been increasing its network by at least one hundred stores per year in recent years. The company plans invest EUR 50 million in opening 130 stores this year, aiming to reach 500 units.

The company is active in 200 cities and towns in Romania. In 2015, it saw a net profit of EUR 11.6 million, almost double compared to 2014, and a higher turnover by 40%, namely almost EUR 565 million.

At the end of 2015, Profi had almost 8,800 employees.
