Romania’s rugby team Saturday defeated 39-12 (21-0) Uruguay and qualified for the 2011 Rugby World Cup which will be hosted by New Zealand.  Csaba Gal, Alexandru Manta, Catalin Fercu, Madalin Lemnaru, Danut Dumbrava and Vali Calafeteanu scored for Romania.

Romania will compete in the group B of next year's World Cup, alongside Argentina, England, Scotland and Georgia.  The 2011 Rugby World Cup is in its seventh edition and Romania's rugby team never missed qualification for the competition.

Romania will play against Scotland on a first match in the world cup in September next year. Matches against Argentina, England and Georgia will follow.
