Romanian short film screened at Hollywood Chinese Theatre
A Romanian short film has been included among the films screened at the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles.
The short film, Regression by Robert Popa, was part of the HollyShorts festival in LA. The Chinese Theatre is famous for having hosted the première screening of films such as Inglorious Bastards, Matrix and the Kill Bill series movies.
The Romanian short film centres around the benefits-disability claim of a Romanian veteran of the Afghanistan war, Ciprian Dragulescu. However, instead of the typical post-traumatic stress disorder or amnesia, Ciprian seems to be affected by a largely uncharted condition; the mental regression to the development level of 5 year-old kid. More about the film here.
The film was described as “ingenious fast-paced comedy with clear farcical overtones.” The Romanian short has already received four awards and 18 nominations at international festivals such as Palm Beach International Film Festival and the Mumbai International Short Film Festival.
