Romanian short nominated for the European Film Awards 2017
Written/ Unwritten, a short film directed by Romanian Adrian Silisteanu, is on the list of shorts nominated for this year’s European Film Awards.
A total of 15 short films have been nominated so far for the European Film Awards 2017, representing countries such as Greece, Sweden, Portugal, Turkey, Spain, Ireland, Germany, and France.
Written/Unwritten tells the story of a Roma family and their under-aged daughter who just gave birth. In order to be released from hospital she needs a signature from her mother, whom she has not seen since she was a child. Watch trailer below.
Adrian Silisteanu was born in Bacau, Romania, on March 5, 1975, and he graduated in Cinematography in Bucharest. He also studied Digital Cinematography at the National Audiovisual Institute in Paris, and worked for a short period as digital imaging technician. His 2017 short Written/Unwritten received the Grand Prix at the Odense International Film Festival this year, and the TSFF Shorts Award for Best Short Film at the 2017 Trieste Film Festival.
More than 3,000 EFA Members will select the winner of the European Film Awards’ short films competition. The European Short Film 2017 will then be presented at the European Film Awards Ceremony on December 9, in Berlin.
