Romanian Simona Halep moves closer to Shenzhen Open final with new victory

Romanian tennis player Simona Halep, the world’s third best women’s tennis player according to the WTA ranking, won her third match in the Shenzhen Open and made it to the competition’s semi-finals.

Halep beat 21-year old Serbian Aleksandra Krunic (no. 84 WTA) in straight sets, ended 6-3, 6-3, after just over one hour.

In the semis, Halep will face the winner of the match between Kazakh Zarina Diyas and Chinese Saisai Zheng.

The winner of the Shenzhen Open will get a check for USD 111,000 and 280 WTA points. Halep already has 110 WTA points for reaching the semi-finals.
