Romanian song: Melancolic by Byron & new HBO Romania series Ramai cu mine
This one is a soundtrack song, and an occasion to say a few words about a new Romanian series.
The song Melancolic / Ramai cu mine (translated as Stay with me) will be the main title for the new series under the same name, which will premiere on HBO Romania on December 1.
This is the second HBO Europe series produced in Romania, after In Deriva/Drifting. The series' English title is Shall we kiss, and follows the lives of eight young people on a quest for love, friendship, and above all, their lost souls.
Filming lasted for 11 weeks in 57 locations in Bucharest, including in the Old Town, and 70 actors, as well as 600 extras will appear in the series. The Romanian actors Iulia Lumânare, Aureliu Surulescu, Monica Ciută, Andi Vasluianu, Cosmina Stratan, Antonia Ionescu Micu, Lucian Ifrim, Andreea Gheorghe shared the spotlight with Canadian actor William Hope, known for his roles in Sherlock Holmes, The Whistleblower and Aliens.
The 13-episode series Ramai cu mine'/Stay with me is based on a script adapted by Lia Bugnar, and it was produced by Film Factor. Executive producer was Carmen Harabagiu from HBO Europe, while Aurelian Nica and Gabriela Ceuţă were also producers.
Going back to the song, Byron composed it especially for this series, and this calls for listening to more of Byron's songs. More about them here.
