Romanian song of the week: “Smile” by Les Elephants Bizarres
This week we have for you a song that has a joyful attitude and a catchy beat, just perfect for a carefree summer day. The song is called “Smile”, and it’s performed by the Romanian band Les Elephants Bizarres (The Bizarre Elephants).
Les Elephants Bizarres is an indie-pop-disco-punk-funk band formed in 2007 in Bucharest. It consists of Stefan (lead vocals), Hasan (bass), Catalin (guitar/backing vocals), Nae (synthesizer), and Claudiu (drums). The band’s first big single was “Have no fear” which was launched in 2009. Other famous singles include “Hello says the devil”, and “The Boys”. These songs can be found on their first and only album to date named “Hello”, which was launched in 2010.
You can listen some of the songs from the album on their MySpace page here.
The official video for “Smile” song will be released on August 11, 2011 in Kulturhaus. Until then we will post a video of Les Elephants Bizarres performing it live at the “Club A” Festival on May 15, 2011.
