Romanian state company allots EUR 10 mln to fix highway segment

24 March 2016

Romania’s National Highways Company (CNADNR) has allotted EUR 10.5 million to start the rehabilitation work on the A2 Highway’s Drajna-Lehliu segment.

The A2 highway connects the capital Bucharest to the Black Sea port of Constanta and is also known as the “Sun Highway”, because it’s more used during the summer season.

The Drajna-Lehliu segment was opened in 2007 and its service life amounted to six years. This section is now in poor condition.

“Rehabilitating this segment is extremely necessary. Considering that the public tender procedure can last up to 120 days, we have allocated funds to the Regional Directorate of Roads and Bridges - Constanta to start the auction procedure as soon as possible,” reads the CNADNR press release.
