Romanian stationery supplier Dacris wants to sell EUR 1 mln worth of Namiki luxury pens at new Bucharest shop
Romanian stationery supplier Dacris will invest a quarter million euros in opening its first shop for luxury writing items, under the name ArtPen. The shop will sell Namiki writing instruments, which is one of the best know brads in the world on this segment, and the second most sold in specialized stores across Europe.
The Romanian company hopes to achieve EUR 1 million in sales with this new shop in the first two years. The outlet will be located on Calea Victoriei at number 39, near the former Muzica shop, and will open on April 25.
“There is a market segment made of collectors and art lovers who appreciate the shift from a regular writing activity to something exceptional, and who have the resources to pay EUR 500 to EUR 1,000 on a Namiki pen,” said Dan Fați, the main shareholder and CEO of Dacris.
The company will bring to Romania collections which only include 99 to 150 items worldwide.
Dacris expanded to Bulgaria last year. The company, which has 310 employees, posted a turnover of EUR 16 million in 2013.
Namiki is a Japanese brand of fountain pens and other writing equipment. Namiki is the surname of Ryosuke Namiki, the founder of the Pilot, named Namiki Manufacturing Company until 1938 when it became Pilot Pen Co., Ltd.
