Board members of the state-owned airline Tarom decided on Friday to suspend the company’s general director Edouard Heinzmann from the position of financial and human resource manager, said the Transport Minister Dan Costescu. However, he will remain general manager.

The Government had come up with the suggestion to suspend Heinzmann form the position of general manager due to management deficiencies, but the board members had the final say and didn’t agree with it.

The company hasn’t managed to comply with its budget estimations. Tarom had losses of over EUR 9.1 million last year, although the estimated losses totaled EUR 1.8 million, said Costescu.

Heinzmann started his term in November 2012, and signed a contract for four years.
