Romanian taxpayers can ask for and receive fiscal documents electronically
Romanian taxpayers will be able to ask for documents from the country’s Fiscal Administration (ANAF) via electronic methods, such as e-mail, and the tax authorities will send the requested documents the same way, the Government decided via an Emergency Ordinance.
This comes to complete the current Fiscal Procedures Code, which currently only allows fiscal authorities to issue fiscal documents only in paper format. Only tax statements can be submitted electronically.
Last year, tax administrations, issued, printed and sent 5.5 million income statements. The new measure aims at reducing fiscal administration costs and bring quicker solutions to taxpayers' requests.
The documents sent electronically will bear the electronic signature of the Public Finance Ministry or of the local public administration offices.
It is yet uncertain however what are the exact documents that will be sent electronically.
