Romanian town, nine other European cities to introduce eco-friendly public transport
Ten European cities, namely Oslo, Frankfurt, London, Stockholm, Lisbon, Katowice, Beja, Madrid, Zografou and Romania’s Suceava, have initiated a joint project to introduce environmentally friendly public transport via electrical buses. They will ask the European Commission to speed up the allocation of funds, reports local Mediafax.
The mayor of Suceava, Ion Lungu, said he will participate next week, in Brussels, in a meeting with representatives of the other cities.
‘We meet in Brussels to insist for the European Commission to finance this project sooner,” he said.
Lungu hopes the first electric busss acquired through this project to already run in Suceva next year.
