Romanian employee unions, Tarom airline management due for talks to stop strike
The management of Romanian state airline Tarom and employee unions within the company will meet today, together with Transport Minister Ioan Rus, to discuss putting an end to the spontaneous strike at Tarom.
The strike started two days ago, on Sunday and delayed 12 flights, while canceling two others. On Monday, September 15, seven more flights were canceled.
The strike was started by Tarom pilots and copilots, and affected mainly internal routes, as well as a flight to Budapest. However, an employee unionist said the flights were canceled as some pilots were unable to work, due to health issues.
A full work conflict however could be in the making, as trade unionists say the collective labor contract will be registered without having been signed and approved by the Tarom pilots.
