Romania – based transport and tourism group Eurolines ended the first half of the year with a turnover of EUR 27.7 million, up from the equivalent of EUR 18.8 million during the same period of 2011.

More than half of the group's revenues came from the travel agencies Eurolines and TUI TravelCenter, grouped under Touring Europabus România.

Eurolines, which brought TUI Travel PLC to Romania last year, saw its transactions on tourism more than doubling so far in 2012, compared to the same period of last year.

Eurolines was set up in 1995 by Romanian investor Dragos Anastasiu (in picture). It now includes 54 agencies in Romania, five of which under franchise, and has 425 employees.
