Romanian video chat network makes EUR 900,000 per year

Local video chat network Studio 20 has opened its second franchise this year. It is located in the center of Cluj-Napoca, in north-western Romania, and has required an investment of EUR 100,000.

The company opened another franchise in Bucharest at the beginning of the year. It operates a total of three centers in Romania.

The center in Cluj-Napoca covers 300 sqm and can host up to 20 models and a support team of 6 people, reports local Dailybusiness.ro.

Studio 20 generated a turnover of EUR 900,000 last year. The company was launched at the beginning of 2014.

According to Studio 20, about 100,000 Romanian women work in the video chat industry. The video chat industry in Romania is estimated at over USD 100 million per year, according to Robert Vanderty, the owner of the Studio 20 concept.

He estimates that the market increased by 10-15% in the first nine months of this year and that the legal revenues in this market have reached about 50% of the total, compared to only 10% in 2014, due to the tax authority’s controls.
