Romanian violinist and Russian pianist go on Stradivarius Tour across Romania
Romanian violinist Alexandru Tomescu has started his Stradivarius National Tour for the seventh consecutive year, this time accompanied by Russian pianist Eduard Kunz.
The tour, named In the Mood for Prokofiev started on May 18 and will arrive in several cities across the country: Timisoara - on May 25, Oradea - May 27, Hunedoara - May 29, Sibiu - May 30, Pitesti - June 3, Craiova - June 4, Bacau - June 7, Iasi - June 9 and Bucharest - June 11. The event’s program includes works of the famous Russian composer Serghei Prokofiev.
For the first time, the concert will open with a piece signed by a young Romanian composer, Gabriel Gitan, student at the George Enescu National College of Music in Bucharest. His piece won a competition launched by Alexandru Tomescu and Eduard Kunz a few months ago.

Alexandru Tomescu is a Romanian violinist, winner of numerous national and international awards at classical music festivals. He performed in famous halls in big cities around the world, such as Carnegie Hall in New York, Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, Theatre des Champs Elysees in Paris, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
Eduard Kunz is a Russian pianist born in Siberia. Named among 10 of tomorrow's great pianists by the BBC Music Magazine, he has performed and broadcast with many major orchestras in Europe and played on some of the greatest stages in the world.
