Romanian worker among winners of lottery grand prize in Italy
A 27-year old Romanian immigrant, who had been working in Italy for 7 years, is one of the winners of the grand prize of the Italian Lottery. He will get EUR 730,000, according to Italian media.
The entire prize, some EUR 40 million was shared by 56 people.
The Romanian, who lives and works in the Northern area of Italy, already cashed in his prize on Tuesday, July 2.
Romanians are among the largest immigrant groups in Italy, which is, along with Spain, among the favorite migration destination for Romanians looking for a better life abroad. Over a million Romanians work in Italy, and some 130,000 Romanian women in the North of Italy alone left their children at home, in the care of relatives, according to a recent study.
