Romanian Zonga reaches 0.5 mln users mark on increasing online music popularity
The local music service Zonga, launched in 2012, reached the 0.5 million users market mid-2014, four times higher year-on-year.
The growth was due to the speedier adoption of mobile Internet services and to the investments in the platform’s music content. Zonga currently includes 24 million songs via the Internet, through an app, or on the desktop and on the Samsung Smart TVs.
The growth in Zonga’s number of users show the increasing trend to listen to music online, rather than download music. Zonga was created by Sergiu Biris, also the founder of the Trilulilu online music service, where users can upload music and videos.
