Romanians deem themselves civilized and loyal, but judge each other as vain, lazy gossips
Romanians see themselves as civilized, open to learn and loyal, a recent study issued by training and consultancy company Result Development found. When it comes to self-image, 86.6 percent of respondents believe they exhibit civilized behavior, while 83.7 percent are open to learn, in their view. About 80 percent said they are loyal. Discipline is also among the traits underlined in the study – with 77.7 percent of responses, orientation towards the future – 74.6 percent, high personal standards – some 74.4 percent of responses. Team work, competence, integrity, perseverance and striving for perfection were also among the traits mentioned in the study.
As for their view of their fellow citizens, Romanians believe others have a tendency to gossip, engage in scenarios and political games – 81.3 percent of respondents. Taking power and the desire to be the boss is a Romanian trait according to 81.1 percent, while 75 percent believe others tend to think they are smarter. Romanians also believe that other Romanians are eager to be praised – 72.6 percent, while looking for scapegoats – 72.5 percent. They also believe their fellow nationals are vain and proud – 71.8 percent, as well as lazy – 71.2 percent.
The study was carried out on over 1,000 respondents across Romania.
