Romanians create new eco car SCI HyMod

24 February 2012

Three Romanians came up with a new eco-car project called SCI HyMod, weeks away from the Geneva car show. It is a concept car proposed by automotive journalist Dan Scarlat, designer Marian Cilibeanu and engineer Cristian Ionescu.

The base price of the ecological, efficient family HyMod is given as EUR 25,500. The small mono-space car uses already existing solutions, such as chargeable cells and a compact internal combustion engine, to create a hybrid vehicle that can also run as fully electric.

The engine has a maximum power of 65 HP and a constant torque of 200 Nm can bring a top speed of 130 km/h.

The battery pack allows autonomy of 140 km, which can be supplemented by the individual 5 kWh battery of the car, thus raising the range over 180 km.
