Romanians buy over 370 green cars through the Cash-for-Bangers program
Romanians purchased so far a total of 371 green cars through the Cash-for-Bangers (Rabla) program. The number was six times higher than the one registered between January and May.
The program, which aims to replace old cars with new ones that are less polluting, kicked off in May this year.
“I think we are on the right track, especially if we take a look at last year’s Cash-for-Bangers program when a total of 38 green cars were purchased with eco-bonuses,” said Environment Minister Gratiela Gavrilescu.
Over 11,800 vouchers in the Cash-for-Bangers program have already been booked until July 21. This represents some 60% of the total of 20,000 vouchers available for individuals this year.
Registrations for this year’s edition of the Cash-for-Bangers program started on April 27. The Government has allocated 20,000 vouchers for individuals, 3,000 more than the year before, and 5,000 for companies and public institutions.
