Romanians make 550 million Google searches on health a year
Romanians prefer to self-diagnose and look for health-related information on the internet. Last year, Google registered 550 million health-related searches in Romania, more than the number of searches related to financials and beauty. Romanians only made more searches on tourism, according to Google Romania.
“Last year there were 550 million searches on health, which is very much. Comparing these with other sectors such as beauty and personal care, finance and tourism I was surprised. I was expecting people to look for more information on beauty products, but the interest in health is way higher than that for beauty and finance together,” said Razvan Iordache, Industry Analyst with Google Romania, quoted by Mediafax.
Over 56% of the health-related searches are on health problems, 25% are on health services and 12% are related to pharmaceutical services.
Some of the most popular searches are on Ebola, pregnancy calculator, haemorrhoids and shingles. MedLife and Regina Maria lead the searches for health services while Farmacia Tei and Sensiblu are the most searched pharmaceutical services providers.
