Romanians pay more of their bills on time
The payment rate among Romanian consumers has improved compared to last year, according to debt collection company EOS KSI. Romanians currently pay 75% of their invoices on time, up five percentage points compared to 2014.
The decline in inflation and a slight decrease in the unemployment rate have a positive effect on the security of payments, said Georg Kovacs, EOS KSI general director, reports local Agerpres.
The payment delays are also shorter compared to last year. In 2014, the delays averaged some 19 days for individuals and 33 days for companies. This year, however, the delays have dropped to 12 days for individuals and to 24 days for companies.
“Despite the positive trend, the number of overdue payments hasn’t yet reached an economically acceptable level,” said Kovacs.
