Romanians target world record with longest love letter
Bucharest inhabitants will strive to break the world record with the longest love letter in the world on February 24, the traditional lovers' day in Romania, called Dragobete. The event will take place between 12,00 and 22,00 on Lipscani street in the Old Town of the Romanian capital, which will become a space dedicated to love. Representatives of the Guiness World Record will attend the event to validate the record.
The writing activity will be accompanied by love sketches, dance sessions, street shows and photo sessions for couples. We wrote about Dragobete here.
Romania is present with 25 world records in the Guiness World Records archive. For example, Romanian Gabriel Antoniu Lavrincic received the biggest number of letters in a lifetime. He got mail 22,018 times from children in Russia between 1987 and 1991. The largest hora dance involved 13,828 participants who danced in the town of Slatina, Romania on January 24, 2006 to celebrate the Union Day. The largest legal document is an insurance policy measuring 9 m X 6 m issued by ING Asigurari de Viata (Romania) and signed in Varna (Bulgaria) on March 15, 2008.
The most expensive pair of cufflinks are 'V2', designed by Arfaq (UK) and made from diamonds and sapphires set in platinum and 18-carat gold and were privately sold to the late US singer Michael Jackson and MJJ Productions for USD 39,750 in Bucharest, Romania, in November 1996.
The largest treasure hunt game involved 250 participants and was achieved during the re-launch of the Kinder Surprise egg in Bucharest, Romania, on September 4, 2010. More world records set by Romania here.
