Romania's Arad City Hall spends EUR 17 mln to buy, rehabilitate historic buildings
The Arad City Hall will buy and rehabilitate several emblematic buildings in the city with EUR 17 million. It is part of a larger project of EUR 130 million, aimed to help the city run for the European Capital of Culture 2021.
The local municipality will invest EUR 130 million in the cultural infrastructure by 2026, reports Ziarul Financiar.
The project involves the acquisition of buildings of local importance, which belong to companies or individuals. These include the Old Theatre, the Hirschl House, the Water Tower, Marta House, Teba Factory, and the Casino. They have all been declared historic monuments.
