Romania's biggest online retailer doubles numbers of employees
The local company Dante International, which owns eMag.ro, the country’s biggest online retailer, almost doubled its number of employees in 2014 compared to 2013. This went up from 576 to 1,015 last year, according to data from the Ministry of Finance.
The company posted a turnover of EUR 285 million last year, up by 65% compared to 2013.
The firm has massively invested in its international expansion to Poland, but also in its local marketplaces. This led to losses of EUR 13.2 million in 2014, compared to a EUR 1.5 million loss in 2013.
