Romania's central bank publishes board member salaries
Romania’s National Bank (BNR) published yesterday the salaries of its top executives, as well as the allowances of the board members.
However, the central bank will not publish the salaries of executive directors, but only their maximum and minimum wages.
BNR Governor Mugur Isarescu has a monthly net salary of about EUR 9,600. He also gets an allowance of over EUR 4,100 for being a board member.
The first deputy governor Florin Georgescu receives a net wage of over EUR 9,000 per month, as well as an allowance of around EUR 4,100 for being a board member. Deputy governor Liviu Voinea earns around EUR 8,500 and a board member allowance of over EUR 3,800.
Besides the monthly salary, they also get a holiday allowance every year, which represents one monthly net salary.
The employees who reach pension age get an allowance equal to 12 salaries, but only if they had worked for minimum six years at BNR. As for the wages of directors, the monthly wage of a BNR director is minimum EUR 1,755 and maximum EUR 7,000.
