Romania's Central Bank wants customer-bank dispute-solving mechanism
The Romanian Central Bank (BNR) will propose this spring a mechanism to deal with disputes between customers and banks, said Bogdan Olteanu, BNR deputy governor.
The Central Bank will then expect the Parliament to create the institutional framework for this mechanism.
In Romania, consumer protection is a social need. It’s important that the proposed solutions are affordable, and involve zero or symbolic costs for the consumer. The solutions also need to be fast and efficient, Olteanu added, cited by local Agerpres.
