Romania's CFR Marfa and CFR Calatori want to sell 2,800 scrapped wagons
State-owned railway freight company CFR Marfa and railways operator CFR Calatori will each organize an auction this September to sell scrapped wagons. In total, 2,800 wagons will be on sale.
CFR Marfa will organize on September 25 an auction to sell scrap metal from 2,450 wagons. The tender guarantee is EUR 520,000 and the participation documentation is RON 300 (some EUR 68). According to calculations made by local Economica.net, CFR Marfa should obtain some EUR 11 million from this sale.
CFR Calatori will also auction off dozens of scrapped trains on September 25, for which it might get some EUR 3 million.
