Romania's CFR Marfa starts restructuring, to lay off 2,500 by end-July
Romania’s state owned railway freight company CFR Marfa started this week the dismissal process for 2,500 employees. The entire process will be completed by end-July.
"We follow the legal steps. The restructuring process for 2,500 employees started this week. People will leave, advance notices are given, the legal steps are being followed. They will leave the company in the second half of July," said Ion Soare, commercial director CFR Marfa, quoted by local Agerpres.
The company announced the layoffs at the beginning of this month. The employees will receive between 12 and 24 severance payments with a maximum value of RON 1,625 per month (EUR 371).
